Packing my bags for a new adventure is almost always that moment when it all becomes real. The excitement of a new place and the hours and days of research spent planning a trip suddenly become plans in action and before you know it you’re handing over your passport and departure card. On my most recent trip to London, I realised one thing about my carry-on luggage: almost all of it was black and gold. There’s just just something so classic, timeless and effortless about black and gold accessories, so today I’m going to share some of my fave picks for the season!

My arm candy is this simple and understated timepiece by Shore Projects, who I’m sure you’ve all seen a lot of bloggers wearing lately. Their pieces are beautifully simple and come with multiple bands to switch up your watch. I chose the black/gold combination and an additional gold band for more formal night time affairs!

My sunglasses were a bargain buy from QUAY Australia, who have also been really popular among the bloggersphere! Their sunglasses are really affordable (about $60 from memory) and a great alternative to the more expensive brands that offer a similar product (both in style and quality). I chose these round glasses with a gold frame and also have a pair of their oversized aviators which are great to hide the jet lag!

I’m sure you’re all familiar with my ear candy by now, these stunning headphones by Frends. I’ll be the first to admit that these are an investment piece and don’t come cheap, but the quality of sound is great and they’re super stylish! These are the one item I am most complimented on – most frequently by airline staff!

My scents of the season are all by Jo Malone – English Pear & Freesia, Peony & Blush Suede and Red Roses. I first invested in Jo Malone a couple of years back as a mother’s day gift for my mum, however have found myself stealing the scent every chance I get! Thus in New York last month I invested in two new picks from their range and absolutely adore them both! The English Pear & Freesia is a little more cool with woody tones, whilst the Red Roses is great for late night dates (a little more sophisticated and a really strong scent).

My phone cover was a bargain buy and means I hardly ever lose my phone – winning!

My bespoke travel pieces (black with gold initials) are by The Daily Edited, an Australian brand who have kinda taken the world by storm lately! I was gifted these two pieces and absolutely adore them. The small bag is great for travel-sized cosmetics, but is too small for skincare (food for thought!) The passport cover is really hand to keep everything travel-related in one place, though doesn’t have a coin compartment so you’ll need a separate wallet for shrapnel!

My camera is of course the famous Olympus PEN E-PL7 (I talk about this camera A LOT!) I’m still as in love with this little guy as I was when I first opened it in the mail. This is my ultimate go-to camera for all vlog entries and I even use it for photos a lot of the time. For a small camera it certainly packs a lot of punch!

My beauty essentials are currently pretty slim as my skin is behaving without too much hassle (yay)! I would highly recommend the face oil by Sunday Riley and the only lipstick you’ll ever need: Audrey by Charlotte Tilbury (I’m not kidding when I say this is the best lipstick I have ever owned!)
